Colerine Students at DevXS
First year students Jonathon Dingley, Kevin Hargan and Perry Johnson are set to take part in DevXS - a national student developer marathon hosted by the University of Lincoln. Up to 200 students from across the UK and beyond will compete against each
other and the clock to create new web applications in a unique student

Citi-Group Mobile Game Development Prize Awarded
The school of Computing and Information Engineering at Coleraine has been fortunate over many years to receive sponsored prizes from local industry. Last academic year Citi-Group generously donated a 2nd year student prize for the best game designed and developed to run on a smartphone. Three groups of students from Dr Darryl Charles 2nd year game development class were shortlisted for the prize and their Windows Phone 7 games were scrutinized by a technical team from within Citi-Group
Civic Recognition for Kyle
Second Year computing student Kyle Davidson has been given a special award from
Newtownards Borough Council to mark his achievement in having an iPhone app launched

University of Ulster student's 'No Brainer' App for Apple
University of Ulster student Shannon Holgate from Castledawson was one of eight lucky undergraduates to secure a coveted place on Apple's inaugural ‘App Camp’ in Northern Ireland. Coleraine Computing students Barry Herbert, Michael McCrystal, and Graham Taylor travelled to Tiperray
Institute with lecturer Darryl Charles to compete in the XNA Ireland Space Invaders
competition. The event was the centrepiece of the Microsoft sponsored XNA Ireland Challenge 2008,
for which 2nd and 3rd level students designed their own version of the classic game for Xbox 360 consoles.
Computing Innovation at the University of Ulster Recognised by Industry
Students from the University of Ulster will benefit from the internationally renowned Microsoft Scholarship Programme. In recognition of course innovation and high quality
student performance, computing students at Coleraine will now be supported in their learning by a fund of 5000 Euros per year.
