Keynote: Alan Slattery

Abstract

This keynote will cover the experiences of the Rococo engineering team in putting Agile Methods into practice and in the process discuss the strengths and weaknesses of Agile development when used to in a web based, rapid development environment.

Bibliography

Alan leads the Engineering team in Rococo Software. He is responsible for product design, product development, component testing, quality assurance, and product maintenance. He also leads and contributes to the overall technical direction of Rococo's products. Alan has more than 10 year's post-graduate experience and a degree in Computer Systems.

Previous experience includes Gradient Solutions where Alan worked with a team to develop a travel e-commerce product. Alan also worked in Iona Technologies for a number of years where his roles included Team Leader and Principal Customer Service Engineer.

Rococo is a provider of telecom software and services, based in Dublin, Ireland. Their software for Java/Bluetooth enablement is embedded on over 100m cell phones and their partners and customers include Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Aplix Corporation, Esmertec and IBM. Their Value Added Services for Telecoms bridge the telecoms voice network and the Internet and include; C3 Call Routing Enterprise Portal, www.mySay.com a voice-blogging and commenting service, and www.dial2do.com, a voice activated productivity service.
