Safety Manual

A Safety Manual has been prepared to assist students within the Faculty to perform their duties safely and in compliance with the Health and Safety at Work (N.I.) Order 1978 that is a statutory instrument relating to all persons at work.

A complete copy of this Manual is available here:

The Faculty is required to enforce the Safety Regulations laid down in this manual, and may initiate appropriate disciplinary proceedings in respect of any contravention of these regulations. It should be noted that repeated offences, or an act of gross negligence where the safety of the person and others is at risk, may result in removal from the course of study as specified in the student handbook. In certain circumstances the individual concerned may be liable to prosecution in the courts.

An important function of the manual is to help you to prevent accidents and eliminate hazards to health. It gives basic information on safety and the specific safety regulations of the Faculty.

Please read the Safety Manual carefully. You should also acquaint yourself with the location of all the relevant extinguishers, first aid boxes, emergency telephone numbers and exits.
